Re/MAX has recently done research of homeowners and homebuyers to find out which renovation projects are most likely to result in "payback" when the house is sold. The top three projects are renovating a kitchen, replacing/upgrading the roof and replacing the windows and doors. In order for these renovations to add value, the home must be valued between $250,000- $400,000. When deciding what to tackle first, it must be made clear whether the project is to add value or if it is strictly for your own pleasure and convenience.
Surely we’re all familiar with what can happen if you don’t have flooring that can withstand water. No matter how fast you can wipe it up, the liquid will quickly seep down into the floor, leading to staining, warping, mold and even damaging the ceilings below in extreme circumstances. If you’re looking at installing new flooring, consider the options available to you in both traditional and newly developed surfaces! You may end up waterproofing your whole house!
